  • 1 ½ lbs. Smithfield® Smoke’NFast® Carnitas
  • 1 lard carton
  • 8 corn tostadas
  • Mexican sour cream, to liking
  • 2 avocados, sliced
  • Red onion, julienned, to liking
  • Iceberg lettuce, shredded, to liking
  • Roma tomatoes, diced, to liking
  • Cilantro, chopped, to liking
  • Lime, for serving
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Place carnitas on sheet tray with few dollops of lard and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roast carnitas until golden brown and slightly crispy, about 15 minutes.
  4. Place the meat aside and assemble tostadas.
  5. Build tostadas to your liking with sour cream, avocados, red onion, iceberg lettuce, Roma tomatoes, cilantro and lime.
