Bacon Wrapped Chestnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Smithfield® Bacon, cut in half
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 8-oz. cans water chestnuts, drained
  • Toothpicks

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine brown sugar, Worcestershire and ketchup until smooth.
  3. Wrap each water chestnut with a bacon piece, overlapping the ends, then secure with a toothpick. Line these in an oven-safe baking dish, and bake for 20 minutes. Drain off excess grease.
  4. Pour the sauce over the water chestnuts, and place back into the oven to continue to cook. Bake for another 50-60 minutes, or until bacon crisps up.
